Restaurant Owner Agreement

Version 1.0 · Effective October 4, 2026

1. What this is

This agreement covers managing a restaurant listing on BiteLeague. You accept it when you apply to manage a listing, and it applies to each listing you manage.

The BiteLeague Terms of Service and Privacy Policy still apply to you in full. This agreement adds to them; it does not replace them. Where this agreement and the Terms of Service genuinely conflict on a matter of restaurant management, this agreement governs.

In this agreement, "you" means both you personally and the business you are applying on behalf of. "We," "us," and "our" mean Capernaum LLC.

2. Your authority to agree

By applying, you represent that you are an owner, officer, manager, or other authorized representative of the business, and that you are entitled to agree to this on its behalf. If you are not, you are agreeing personally and you are responsible for it.

Claiming a business you are not authorized to represent is grounds for immediate removal and may expose you to legal liability.

3. Verification documents

We ask for documents showing your association with the business, which may include a business licence, a utility bill, or similar proof. You represent that every document you submit is genuine, unaltered, and yours to provide.

We review these documents, and we may refuse a claim without explaining why. We keep them while the claim is active and for 12 months after it ends or is refused, as the Privacy Policy says. You may redact information in a document that is not needed to establish your association with the business, as long as the business name and address stay legible.

4. What owner access lets you do

Verified owners can:

Owner access does not give you control over customer content. You cannot delete or hide a customer's dish or photo yourself. You can request removal, and an administrator decides. You also cannot reverse your own decision on a claim — you appeal it, and an administrator decides. This is deliberate: a ranking that an owner can quietly edit is worth nothing to the customers who rely on it.

5. Customer information you will see

This section matters more than any other. Read it.

Reviewing a dish claim means looking at a customer's receipt. You will see the receipt image itself, what we extracted from it, the dish photo, and the customer's display name. You will not see their email address or phone number.

A receipt is a record of a person's purchase. You agree that you will:

These obligations survive the end of this agreement and the removal of your access. Breaching them is grounds for immediate removal and may expose you and your business to liability under applicable privacy and consumer protection laws.

6. Fair dealing

BiteLeague works because rankings reflect what customers actually ordered and paid for. You agree that you will not:

We may audit decisions made on a listing, reverse them, and remove access where we conclude this section has been broken.

7. Listing accuracy

You are responsible for everything you publish to the listing: banner text and images, the description, event details, times, and prices. It must be accurate, must not mislead, and must be yours to publish. You are responsible for having the rights to any image you upload.

Do not publish content that is unlawful, offensive, or unrelated to the restaurant, and do not use the listing to advertise another business.

8. Co-owners

A listing may have up to five owners. Every owner has the same access, including the ability to review claims, change the listing, invite further owners, and remove other owners.

If you invite someone, you are responsible for what they do. Invite only people genuinely authorized by the business, and remove them when they leave it. A listing must always keep at least one owner; if you need to step away and you are the last one, ask us.

9. Rewards you choose to honor

Points are a BiteLeague feature with no cash value. If you choose to offer customers a benefit for points or verified claims, that benefit is between you and the customer. You set its terms, you honor it, and you are responsible for it. We are not a party to it and we do not guarantee it.

10. Fees

Owner access is currently free. If we introduce fees for some or all owner features, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to decline. We will not charge you without your agreement, and declining will not remove a listing you already manage, though it may limit which features you can use.

11. Revocation and termination

You may stop managing a listing at any time by removing yourself, provided another owner remains. We may suspend or revoke owner access at any time, with or without notice, including where we believe a claim was misrepresented, this agreement has been broken, or the business has closed or changed hands.

Revoking owner access does not delete the restaurant listing, the dishes customers submitted, or their photos and votes. Those belong to the BiteLeague community and remain, as the Terms of Service describes.

12. Changes to this agreement

We may publish a new version. If a change materially affects your obligations or your access, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, before you continue managing a listing.
